3rd Grade

Third graders are very magical in their art making and are capable of many projects.  They are skilled and still very eager to learn new skills and utilize their creativity.  Most know how to paint effectively, they can draw well and are capable of following directions and listening.

These are the skills and Standards we will be focusing on:

• Use and learn about tints, shades, neutral colors, warm and cool colors 
• Use foreground, middle ground, and background to create the illusion of space
• Draw different types of landscape, cityscape, seascape to create illusion of space
• Create imaginative clay structure
• Create a work of art based on observation of daily life or objects
• Create art that expresses movement and rhythm

Most importantly, we will have fun being creative and learning several different art techniques/mediums such as tempura paint, watercolor, clay, oil and chalk pastels, markers, colored pencils, printmaking and much more.
