6th Grade

Sixth graders are the most engaging grade due to their advanced abilities, understanding of color theory and various art techniques.  They can follow detailed directions, endure multiple step projects and have strong opinions about their personal artistic views, likes and dislikes.  They like more advanced work, are able to work well individually and in a group; they look forward to the end results of their hard work.

These are the skills and Standards we will be focusing on:

• Identify and produce artwork using the elements of art
• Produce and describe symmetrical, radial and asymmetrical art
• Create drawing/painting using tints, shades and intensities
• Describe and produce art the uses the same theme but different media and styles

Most importantly, we will have fun being creative and learning several different art techniques/mediums such as tempura paint, watercolor, clay, oil and chalk pastels, markers, colored pencils, printmaking and much more.
