Kinder

Kindergarten is such a wonderful age for art.  They are intrinsically creative, full of energy and excited about trying new things.  Some of the skills and standards we will be focusing on are:

  • Identify art materials and supplies, Identify and integrate some elements of art (line, color, shape and texture)
  • Paint pictures expressing ideas about family and community
  • Use lines, shapes and colors to make patterns
  • Build fine motor skills (use of scissors, glue and paper, paint, pastels)
  • Make collages, Folding and cutting paper, Use geometric shapes in a work of art, Paint small and big sections using various tools/brushes
  • Look and discuss art from variety of times and places and artists

Most importantly, we will have fun being creative and learning several different art techniques/mediums such as tempura paint, watercolor, clay, oil and chalk pastels, markers, colored pencils and much more.
